📋 The eight cases under Article 80
An employer may dismiss a worker without gratuity or compensation only in these cases:
- Assaulting the employer, the manager, or coworkers while at work
- Failing to perform essential duties despite a written warning
- Conduct offensive to public morals, honor, or integrity
- Forging documents or certificates to obtain the job
- Being absent without a legitimate excuse for more than 30 intermittent days in a year, or 15 consecutive days
- Disclosing trade or industrial secrets
- Causing serious material loss, if the competent authorities are notified within 24 hours
- Exploiting the job for unlawful personal gain
🔑 Mandatory conditions for applying it
- The violation must be legally proven with documented evidence
- The worker must be given the chance to present a written defense
- These cases may not be interpreted broadly
📜 Article 80 — Saudi Labor Law: The employer may terminate the employment contract without notice or gratuity only in specific, exhaustively listed cases.
