📋 Resignation gratuity percentage table — Article 85
When a worker resigns voluntarily, their gratuity percentage is determined as follows:
- ❌ Less than 2 years: no gratuity
- 💰 2 years to less than 5: one-third of the gratuity (33%)
- 💰💰 5 years to less than 10: two-thirds of the gratuity (67%)
- 💰💰💰 10 years or more: the full gratuity (100%)
🌸 An important exception for female workers
Under Article 85, a woman who resigns within 6 months of her marriage contract or within 3 months of giving birth is entitled to the full gratuity, regardless of years of service.
📜 Article 85 — Labor Law: If the worker terminates their fixed-term contract before its expiry, or terminates their unlimited-term contract... they are entitled to a gratuity at the specified percentages.
📊 Example: Sara resigned after 6 years (salary SAR 4,000)
Full gratuity if dismissed(4,000÷2×5)+(4,000×1) = SAR 14,000
Resignation percentage (6 years = 67%)× 0.67
Sara's actual gratuitySAR 9,380 ✅
💡 If you are close to completing 5 or 10 years, waiting a few more months could double your gratuity. Calculate the difference on Sanad for free before you decide.
