A worker's death or disability — do the dues go to their family?

A humane situation every employee should know: in the event of death or total disability, the dues are not forfeited.

💛 Death during service

If a worker dies during their service, their family is entitled to all of their financial dues in full:

✅ End-of-Service Gratuity for the full period of service
✅ Overdue wages, if any
✅ Compensation for unused leave
✅ Any due work-injury compensation

♿ Total disability from work

If a worker becomes totally unable to perform their work due to illness or injury, their contract ends and they are paid all their dues in full, with their gratuity calculated for the entire period of their service.

👨‍👩‍👧 Who among the heirs is entitled to the dues?

The dues are distributed among the legal heirs according to the provisions of Islamic Sharia, and the claim procedure is carried out through the Ministry of Human Resources or the labor court.

📜 Saudi Labor Law — Art. 74: The employment relationship ends upon the worker's death or their total disability from performing the work. Art. 84: they are entitled to a gratuity for the entire period of their service.
